Blob Bop

P300 BCI game from MindCTRL at BCI Game Jam 2026.

Blob Bop

How It Works

Blob Bop lets users control four playful characters, each with their own unique sound. Once the user selects a sound for each character, the characters come together to sing in unison, creating an interactive and joyful music-based experience.

The game combines custom characters, original sounds, and BCI control to create an experience designed with accessibility in mind. By using the P300 paradigm, Blob Bop shows how EEG-based selection systems can be used for creative gameplay, communication, and inclusive interaction.

Why It Matters

This project highlights the growing potential of BCI gaming, especially for users who may benefit from hands-free or assistive control systems. As affordable EEG hardware becomes more accessible, developers can build more software, more experiments, and more end-user applications that expand what is possible in neurotechnology.

At NeuroPawn, we are proud to support projects like Blob Bop that make BCI development more approachable for students, developers, and creators. Projects like this help push the field toward a future where brain-computer interfaces are not only more affordable, but more useful, creative, and inclusive.
